Where does the hair come from?
The best quality 100% human hair comes from India or Europe. We use 100% Remy Human Hair that may be European Indian, and Indo for achieving the best match with the characteristics and requirements of our customers.
We use only 100% Human Remy hair. The hair comes in a variety of colors and textures and is carefully selected to match the client’s color, highlights and texture.
Can you match my hair color and texture?
Yes, our systems offers a wide variety of colors and textures that will be blended to match virtually any hair type and for achieving the most beautiful effect.. We can match hair that is naturally curly, straight or highlighted.
Are hair extensions suitable for me?
Hair extensions are perfect for most people. However, there could be factors such as unsuitable current hair conditions that could prevent extensions from being an option. Such factors include the length of your hair or the presence of hair loss or hair damage. Your hair should be at least 3-4 inches for thickening or volume and at least 4-5 inches for a full lengthening. You will also need to assess your willingness to maintain the extensions. While they are real hair, extensions do require more care than your natural hair.
Anyone who wants longer, thicker hair or highlights without the chemicals and has at least 4 inches of hair at the nape is a candidate. Hair that is chemically damaged or over processed are not good candidates for hair extensions. **We offer treatments such as OLAPLEX or CONTINUUM by DS Laboratories to repair the hair and strengthen the cortex to enable one to get extensions in the future!!**
Do I need a consultation?
Yes, a consultation is required to decide if this service is right for you and to answer your questions. During this free 30 minute consultation, your stylist will analyze your hair to determine the color, type, and quantity of extensions you will require to achieve your desired look.
How long CAN my hair be with extensions?
Your hair should be at least 3-4 inches for thickening or volume and at least 4-5 inches for a full lengthening. Extensions are available in 12″, 14″, 16″, 18″, and 22″ lengths.
How long do hair extensions last?
With proper care and maintenance, the extensions will lasts 3-6 months (depending on technique used). At this point, the extensions can be removed and then re-attached.
Will hair extensions damage my hair?
No! With regular maintenance, you can wear extensions for years without adverse effects. As long as they are put in properly and you do your part to care for them (washing appropriately, getting them adjusted every 2-3 months), your extensions will give you a great look every day. Extensions won’t cause breakage. When they are removed, the lost hair you see is due to normal daily shedding. Everyone loses between 100-200 hairs a day, and when stuck in extensions, the hair is not able to fall out.
Are hair extensions comfortable?
Properly applied hair extensions will not be uncomfortable. There will be some discomfort during application and it may take a few days to become accustomed to the weight of the hair. Some clients report mild headaches for the first few days or so.
How are they applied?
Hair extensions can be applied to your hair in four different ways that includes tape-in, sew-in, fusion, and micro-bead. Different methods have different advantages. The method you choose will depend on your hair, lifestyle, budget, and general needs.
We’ve seen many other salons and stylists promoting one method as being superior. You will often find that those salons have simply not made the investment in time, training, and equipment to be able to offer more than one type of extension application method. If you are undecided on which type of hair extensions are best for you, and you want an unbiased opinion, you should consult with a stylist in a salon where the stylists have training in all of the major application methods.
What are application and maintenance instructions?
- You should arrive with very clean, dry hair with absolutely NO product including oils, styling products, conditioners, etc. This is essential to make sure the extensions will last as long as possible.
- Once extensions are in, please be advised that continually soaking hair in a pool can loosen the adhesive. (not just swimming but hours and hours with wet head) *This applies to Tape- in extensions ONLY.
- Wait at least 24-48 hours before washing hair and only with a sulfate and paraben free shampoo.
- Be careful of over stretching your hair in any way.
- Please be advise to not pull on hair once extensions are in and to use proper brushing techniques.
- Following up with your stylist is very important to insure maximum life of your extensions and to prevent damaging your own hair and scalp.
Can I wash and brush my extensions?
Yes, you can handle your extensions in the same way that you would a head of naturally long hair. There are recommended hair care products that will keep your extensions healthy and lengthen the time you can wear them.
The correct brushes, cleansing, conditioning, and styling products will be recommended. It is very important to follow the recommendations made by your stylist. Some additional care will be required to get the most out of your extensions. This will be explained during your initial consultation. Improper care may result in the loss of some of your extensions and will require you to make more frequent visits to the salon for maintenance. With improper care, the costs associated with in-salon maintenance of your extensions will increase as the stylist will have to allow more time for your visit.
Is it usual for extensions to come out on their own?
It is inevitable that over time, some of your extensions will loosen and/or come out. With the right aftercare and regular maintenance, your extensions will last longer. Most of our stylists will put in a couple of extra extensions to compensate for those that may be lost. If you wear micro-bead or tape-in extensions, you may keep this hair to be re-attached during your next appointment. Fusion extensions will not be reused and should be discarded.
What is the Sew-In application method?
In this method, Sew-In Micro beads are installed horizontally across the head. Hair weft is then stitched into the Space between the bead and scalp. Extensions should be tightened every 6-8 weeks. These adjustments are very quick and easy if a regular adjustment schedule is followed.
What is the Micro-Bead application method?
This method involves attaching the extension to the hair using a tiny, color-matched metal bead. There are several advantages to this method; the extension hair can be reused after removal, the extension can be applied and removed without the use of a adhesive bond and they are relatively easy to install. The main reason that most clients and stylists prefer micro-bead hair extensions is that they can be adjusted (moved closer to the scalp) as the natural hair grows. And, unlike with fusion, they may be reattached if the strand comes out. With adjustments and proper care, micro-bead extensions can last up to six months with proper care. Micro-Bead extensions are almost always the choice for clients who are concerned with adhesive-based extensions.
What is the Tape-In application method?
Quickly becoming the most popular choice for hair extensions, tape-in extensions have some very loyal followers. Tape-in extensions use an adhesive weft that is applied without the need for tools or heat. Tape-in extensions are uniquely designed to lay completely seamless and undetectable in the hair. The best quality tape-in extensions are manufactured with amazing quality human Remy hair with the cuticle intact. This allows the hair to be reapplied up to 3 times. These extensions can last 8 to 12 weeks per application. Tape-in extensions are great for all hair types and they are the best method for someone who wants to go from very short to very long.
What is the Fusion application method?
Fusion hair extensions use a virtually undetectable adhesive bond (about the size of a piece of rice) that can be applied using either heat (hot fusion) or ultrasonic vibrations (cold fusion).
With hot fusion, heat is used to activate a bond to attach extensions to your hair. The best quality fusion hair extensions (Great Lengths, Hair Dreams, and So-Cap) are applied using a keratin bond. Since your hair is made up of 90% keratin, this bond is more gentle on your hair than the adhesive used by most other brands. These extensions can last four months or more. They cannot be adjusted (moved closer to your scalp) as your hair grows
How long does the process take?
The time varies depending on the desired look. It can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours.
What type of follow-up appointments are required?
The number and type of follow-up appointments vary based on the extension application method you select. It is also determined by how well you care for your extensions. Here are some general guidelines for follow-up.
Fusion – Over the life of the extensions (up to 4 months), you should visit your stylist for a maintenance cut which will include trimming the tips of the extensions so they do not matte together.
Micro-Bead – For a natural look, Micro-Bead extensions must be adjusted closer to your scalp as your natural hair grows. Based on your hair type, density, and growth, your stylist will recommend that you visit every 6 to 8 weeks while you have your extensions. These extensions can last up to 6 months (occasionally longer).
Tape-In – To maintain the natural look of tape-in extensions, you will visit your stylist after 8 to 10 weeks. With proper home care, tape-in extensions can be adjusted 3 times for a total life of up to 40 weeks.
Sew-In – These extensions should be adjusted every 6 to 8 weeks. The micro beads are opened. The system is then moved up closer to scalp and then the links are closed. This adjustment can be done very quickly and easily if a regular adjustment schedule is followed.
How much do hair extensions cost?
The cost of hair extensions depends on many factors including length, color, brand, type, quantity, and the condition of your hair. Extensions typically range from $350 to $950. There are many factors that can impact the overall cost. This will be discussed fully during your consultation. As your hair will be custom-ordered, you will be charged for the hair when it is ordered.
What is the cost of follow-up appointments?
Your stylist can provide a range of pricing for aftercare visits (typically an hourly rate) which will vary based on your hair type and how well you take care of your extensions.
Can I swim in a pool and go to the beach?
Yes. Just as your own hair can be affected by chlorine and salt water, it is best to use extra precautions to prevent tangling, dryness, and damage. Keratase Aqua-Seal, for example, is a product that can be sprayed on before you swim. It has UV protection and it forms a protective bond that will help prevent damage from salt, chlorine, and other chemicals that may damage your extensions. It can not be stressed enough how important t is to use the proper hair care products and methods to keep your hair clean and healthy. Your stylist will discuss this during your consultation.
Will this affect my physical activities, exercise and workouts?
As with swimming, you will want to take extra precautions when playing tennis, running and during regular workouts. If you will be outside, it is essential to use the proper UV protective products. You will be advised that you should brush, wash, and condition your hair as quickly as possible after intense physical activity.
Can I have my hair colored with extensions?
Yes. A professional colorist will have no problem maintaining your hair color. If you decide you want a color change, you will most likely have to replace your extensions as it will be almost impossible to get them to match the new color of your natural hair.
Can hair extensions be returned?
It is very important to have a thorough consultation prior to ordering your extensions as they are a custom order just for you that must be paid for prior to ordering. Due to hygienic reasons and State Law we cannot accept returns on hair.
